  • The College of Water Resources and Hydropower held the 2017 National Natural Science Foundation Reporting Mobilization Conference

    On the afternoon of October 8, the School of Hydropower held the 2017 National Natural Science Foundation Reporting Mobilization Conference in the 6-411 classroom. Professor Cheng Wen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Associate Professor Jia Wei, Professor Yang Jie, Professor Feng Minquan, Professor Wang Yimin and the faculty and staff of the whole school attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Jia Wei, the vice president of research at the college.
     At the meeting, Vice President Jia Wei first introduced the 2016 fund declaration and approval of the Institute of Hydropower, emphasized the importance of the National Natural Science Foundation, reiterated the college's support policy for the National Fund, and proposed the 2017 National Academy. The Natural Science Fund reported and approved the targets, formulated the main measures for the 2017 National Fund reporting work, arranged the time nodes for the 2017 fund review, encouraged everyone to actively declare, and mobilized relevant teachers with rich basic research experience to apply for key projects.
     Professor Yan Junjie, winner of the National Natural Science Foundation of Xi'an Jiaotong University, introduced the experience of national fund reporting. Professor Yan combined with his own experience in multi-year fund application, detailed introduction of the characteristics of different types of national natural funds, and an example, the experience is truly useful, so that the teachers of the Hydropower College have a deeper understanding of the application for natural funds. After the meeting, some teachers raised questions. Professor Yan Junjie gave a patient and meticulous answer and laid the foundation for the fund application work of our teachers.
     This meeting summarized the experience and shortcomings of the 2016 National Fund Report, and laid a good foundation for the smooth implementation of the National Natural Science Foundation of the Institute of Hydropower in 2017.
     Attachment: Introduction to Professor Yan Junjie:
     Yan Junjie, born in 1967, Ph.D., professor, doctoral tutor, is currently the deputy dean of the Research Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University, member of the Multiphase Flow Committee of the China Society of Engineering Thermophysics, member of the Steam Turbine Technical Standards Committee of the Power Plant Industry, Xi'an Energy Vice President of the Society.
     Has long been engaged in research and development of thermal systems, two-phase flow and other aspects. He has presided over 2 national 973 projects, 1 National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Fund, 1 key fund, 5 face projects, 1 863 project, 1 doctoral fund, and major scientific and technological achievements of Shaanxi Science and Technology Coordination Innovation Project. There are 1 conversion project and more than 30 horizontal projects. He has won 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award (1st Completion), 1st National Invention Fourth Prize (3rd Completion), and 1st Prize of Shaanxi Science and Technology Progress Award (1 of which is the 1st Completion) 6 other provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological achievements. In 2000, he was awarded the Outstanding Young Teacher Award of the 7th Higher Education Institution of Huo Yingdong Education Foundation of the Ministry of Education. In 2004, he was selected as the New Century Excellent Talent of the Ministry of Education. In 2011, he was awarded the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund. In 2012, he was appointed as the Minister of Education, Professor Jiang Scholar.
     He has published more than 100 academic papers in authoritative academic journals at home and abroad, including more than 50 SCI papers, and has authorized more than 20 national invention patents and co-published two academic monographs.
