At 15:00 on December 23, 2014, Academician Chen Zuyu of the Chinese Academy of Water Sciences held an academic report on “Analysis of Risk Analysis and Safety Standards for Extra High Dams and Cascade Reservoirs” at Room 207, Teaching 4th Floor, School of Hydropower, Jinhua Campus. Secretary Zhou Xiaode of Xi'an University of Technology met and talked with Academician Chen Zuyu. Li Zhanbin, Dean of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower, Cheng Wen, Vice Dean of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower, Yang Jie, Associate Dean of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower, Professor Li Shouyi of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower, and more than 100 graduate students of hydraulics and geotechnical engineering attended the report.
In the report, Chen Zuyu launched a report on the safety design standards of ultra-high dams and cascade reservoirs in China, and discussed in detail the research methods and ideas of the high-dam risk standards and safety design standards with dam height exceeding 200m, focusing on the special high-dam The content of risk classification, safety factor and the value of the partial coefficient are discussed in detail. The latest research progress on the difficult problem of water conservancy and geotechnical industry, “Soil Rock Dam Breaking Simulation” is shared with the teachers and students. Through this report, the majority of teachers and students not only understand the latest research directions and research methods of the hydraulic and geotechnical industry, but also broaden the research horizon and ideas.
At the end of the report, Academician Chen Zuyu also patiently answered questions from the students. The report will be hosted by Li Zhanbin, Dean of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower.
